Takashi Shimura, perhaps the greatest character actor in Japanese cinema, finally is receiving his due in the first-ever English language book about him: TAKASHI SHIMURA: CHAMELEON OF THE JAPANESE CINEMA, by longtime historian Scott Allen Nollen, to be published by McFarland and Company in 2018.
